POLICE REPORTS: DRUGS, THEFT, DUI | WCCS AM1160 & 101.1FM

A Blairsville man was apprehended last month on several felony bench warrants, and Indiana Borough Police say he had a backpack full of methamphetamine packaged for sale and distribution.

22-year-old Jacob Hankinson was located at an establishment in the 300 block of Philadelphia Street at 2:20 AM on Mat 11th.  He fled police on foot but was captured after resisting arrest.  He was placed in the Indiana County Jail to answer his warrants and this past Wednesday he was charged with felony possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine and flight to avoid apprehension, plus misdemeanor resisting arrest and possession of a controlled substance, and summary criminal mischief.

Hankinson remains in the Indiana County Jail with bond set at $10,000, and a preliminary hearing scheduled before District Judge Guy Haberl on July 7th.  Hankinson’s criminal docket sheet includes a possession with intent to deliver case in Somerset County.

Indiana Borough Police say someone stole a black charcoal grill from a home in the 15-hundred block of Philadelphia Street overnight between Wednesday and Thursday.  Anyone with information is urged to call police at 349-2121.

And police say an Indiana woman was taken into custody early March 27th on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, and charges of DUI and a summary traffic violation were filed on Wednesday.  Alyssa Tillery was pulled over for the traffic offense in the 0-0 block of South 8th Street.

State police in Indiana are investigating an incident of theft dating back to May 28.

Troopers were dispatched to a home along Iselin Road in Young Township shortly after 1 p.m. for reports of theft and upon arrival, discovered that several items were taken from a home. Items include a DeWalt Tool Kit, valued at $499; a Bositch Floor Nailer, valued at $219; a DeWalt Miter Saw, valued at $200; an air brush kit, valued at $120; and an electric DeWalt drill and case, valued at $60.

An investigation into this incident is on-going.

State police are also investigating a burglary that occurred in Buffington Township on May 26.

Reports say troopers were dispatched for reports of a burglary at a home along Stewart Hollow Road, and they say several tools were taken from the home’s garage. Items include a General Electric Welder, valued at $250; a 4” angle grinder and an air impact gun, both valued at $80 each; and a cordless drill, valued at $45.

An investigation into this incident is also on-going.
